Pain Specialist care with an integrated approach to help you understand your pain and reclaim a life of possibility.
We help people move from feeling overwhelmed and stuck to gaining clarity, meaningful relief, and the confidence to re-engage in their lives again. So if you are struggling with any of the following, you’re not alone.
You're not just a diagnosis or a chronic pain patient. You're a person whose life has been disrupted by pain.
Many pain clinics focus only on physical symptoms or procedures.
Our approach is different.
We offer evidence-based specialist pain medicine assessment and management combined with a psychiatry-informed understanding of how the brain, peripheral nervous system, emotions, and life experiences interact with pain.
This means we take the time to listen deeply, explain the “why” behind your pain, and develop a comprehensive plan that addresses your body, mind, sleep, and emotional health, not just one part in isolation.
Our goal is for you to leave with clarity and understanding, not just another prescription or a procedure.
How Patients Feel After Seeing Us
People often tell us they feel finally heard and understood, sometimes for the first time in their pain journey. They are enabled to work through feelings of confusion and hopelessness, through validation, clarity, and a sense of optimism.
Patients gain confidence knowing they have a genuine partnership and a clear, achievable path forward.
What Referrers Value

MEET DR JEREMY TANNENBAUM
Specialist Pain Medicine Physician & Psychiatrist
As a dual-qualified Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and Psychiatrist, Dr Tannenbaum brings a unique, integrated perspective to the treatment of chronic and complex pain conditions.
This advanced training allows him to assess pain from both a physical medicine standpoint - understanding the peripheral nervous and musculoskeletal systems, and pain procedures - and a psychiatric standpoint, in understanding the brain, sleep, and any psychosocial contributors to pain.
This combined expertise is essential for effectively treating persistent pain conditions that do not respond to single-approach treatments.
Please note that Dr Tannenbaum does not have the capacity to accept referrals for general psychiatry or primary substance use disorders or to provide long-term management for these conditions.
A clear, supportive path from your first inquiry onward.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1: Start with an Enquiry & Referral
You begin by submitting a brief online enquiry or contacting our team by phone. A valid referral from your GP or a non-GP medical specialist is required before an appointment can be arranged. This allows us to review your information, confirm eligibility for Medicare rebates, and ensure our specialised pain practice is the right fit for your needs.
Step 2: Comprehensive Specialist Assessment
Your initial consultation is longer and more in-depth than a standard appointment. It is dedicated to listening carefully to your story, understanding how pain affects your life, and conducting a comprehensive assessment. Dr Tannenbaum will spend time explaining the condition and treatment plan.
Step 3: A Personalised Path Forward
If we continue the therapeutic relationship, we work collaboratively to develop and refine an integrated treatment plan focusing on improving function, reducing pain, and restoring confidence over time.
Take the first step toward clarity and relief.
If you are living with persistent pain and seeking a thoughtful, evidence-based approach, we invite you to submit an online inquiry. All inquiries are reviewed to ensure our specialised practice is the right fit for your needs.
